"Most of us go to our graves with our music still inside us." ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes
As a child of immigrant parents, I grew up carving out my own way of life. Without models of financial abundance, joyful work or sustainable love, I experienced a great deal of adversity in my life. Through harnessing my own inner strength and connecting with knowing that something else was possible for me, I pursued my passion for psychology and completed my initial college education. Along the way, I also discovered the gifts of yoga, coaching, counseling, meditation, Buddhism, transformation and living a holistic lifestyle.
With over 12 years of combined experience counseling, teaching and practicing yoga, meditation and coaching, I support women to make powerful changes in their lives. It is my passion to alleviate and transform the cultural wounds of self-criticism and self-hatred, as well as to support radical self-care and living more inspired, radiant and joyful lives. I have an MA in Education, an MA in Clinical Psychology and am also a certified Meditation and Yoga teacher through the Yogic Medicine Institute. Additionally, I am a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at California Institute of Integral studies and have given lectures on self-esteem and Buddhism in both India and the United States. In my spare time, I LOVE to travel abroad, art, writing, salsa dancing, blues dancing, Bollywood and bhangra, photography and live music. |
The Lotus Flower
_The lotus has been a symbol of transformation in Eastern cultures for
thousands of years. It's roots grow deep into still pools of water and
take up the muck and dredge that's been collecting at the bottom of the
pool. This muck is transformed into food for the colorful, beautiful
flower that floats on the surface. This flower represents for us the
possibility of transforming our inner critics, life challenges and
obstacles into opportunities to grow and create the kinds of lives we
truly desire.
