"Dreams pass into the reality of action. From the actions stems the dream again; and this interdependence produces the highest form of living."

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do you charge?
Good question!  I do not discuss fees until our initial consultation session and you have a better sense of the work and value this work will bring to your life. I have a limited number of coaching slots available so it is important to me that we both feel we would be a good fit for each other and that I can be of service to your needs.

How do I get started?
After you initially contact me, I will email you a questionnaire for you to complete and email back to me. Then, we will set up a complimentary, exploratory session in which we will explore your current life circumstances, what you would like to change in your life, how you would like to feel in your life, as well as obstacles and issues that are blocking you right now.  You will receive coaching from me during this session to start the process of change and get a sense of how I work. We can determine how coaching will be beneficial for you at this time and if we are a good match for each other.  At the end of the consultation, we will discuss fees and payment options.  I do ask that by the time we complete our consultation session, we agree on fees and sign a coaching agreement.

What can I expect in a coaching session?
Every woman comes to coaching for different reasons, from different places in their life.  Sessions are personalized and tailored based on individual needs each woman has. Typically,  coaching begins with assessment where you are in your life currently and then brainstorming and exploring what your goals are and what your vision is for you you would like your life to be. From here, I work with you to determine what you need to create the momentum to get from A to B.  This looks different for each woman, however it can consist of experiential exercises,  setting goals for in between each session, yoga postures, celebrating and acknowledging your strengths, understanding how to use challenges as tools for growth, learning skills related to non-violent communication, meditation and breathing for stress management, improving self-care or time management strategies.

How is coaching different than psychotherapy?
Coaching focuses on the "here and now" of your life, as well as where and what you want your life to be like.  Coaching provides the bridge to get from here to there, providing tools, exercises and most importantly support through education, consulting and referrals.  Psychotherapy tends to focus more on how the past has impacted your present mental and emotional experience in the world.  Psychotherapy addresses suffering from the past, including understanding current dynamics related to depression, anxiety, trauma, past abuse, mental disorders and/or substance abuse.  It is more intensive and focused on healing these kinds of afflictions.  Coaching is NOT psychotherapy, and I do not provide psychotherapy as part of my services at this time.

Why do you only offer coaching packages rather than individual sessions?
It takes some time, investment and effort to learn skills and create lasting change in one's life.  During the coaching period, it is common for habitual patterns and self-sabotaging behaviors to arise. This is quite common in the process of creating change because our old patterns and behaviors have been such close friends with us for so long!

Coaching packages offer a container in which to be able to address these patterns and behaviors as they arise in order to gain deeper understanding and transformation.  This also offers us the opportunity to apply the skills and lessons in coaching in real life situations and experiences where our pattern and habits tend to arise.  This is the recipe for lasting change. One or two sessions are not beneficial or useful application for longer term change in one's life.

Are you a licensed psychotherapist?
I am not a licensed therapist in the State of California and therefore do not diagnose or treat mental disorders for a fee.  Coaching is not a form of psychotherapy, nor are coaches required to be licensed therapists or hold a license.  I provide consulting and educational services that provide my clients with opportunities to learn, transform and grow.
